Welcome Crew

As part of the Welcome Crew, you’re the friendly face that sets the tone for the entire retreat. Your role is to warmly greet arriving guests, help them get settled, and offer a smooth start to their experience. Guide cars and RVs to their designated spots, lend a hand with luggage if needed, and accompany guests to their rooms or campsites.

Once they’ve arrived, give a simple orientation—point out key locations like the kitchen, bathrooms, and common areas. Share the flow of the day, workshop tips, and how to find the shift list if they’re volunteering. Be ready to answer questions, calm nerves, and spread good vibes.

Your calm, cheerful presence is the first welcome into our shared space—make it count!

Sheet Shifter

As a Sheet Shifter, you help keep the playroom soft, fresh, and ready for “rest” and connection. Each day, collect used sheets, pillowcases, and blankets, and replace them with clean, cozy linens. In the laundromat, run the wash and dry cycles, then fold and sort everything for reuse or storage.

It’s a quiet but vital role that supports care, comfort, and cleanliness behind the scenes.

LNT -
Leave No Trace
(Indoor Harmony)

This shift is about quiet care and subtle magic—helping create a clean, harmonious space where everyone can feel at ease. As part of the indoor LNT team, you’ll move gently through shared areas, making sure they stay tidy, welcoming, and aligned with our collective values.

You’ll pick up stray litter, empty and replace full trash bags, wipe tables, and do quick spot clean-ups as needed. Check that corners, cushions, and gathering spots feel looked after. Keep an eye on decorations—straighten, refresh, or reset them with love. Return blankets, pillows, or found items to where they belong, and empty any ashtrays along the way.

An important part of this shift is caring for the toilets: remove trash, refill toilet paper, and make sure the space feels clean and dignified. Your soft attention helps carry the shared spirit of presence, respect, and mutual responsibility.

Workshop Wizard
(a.k.a. Set-Up Sidekick)

As a Workshop Wizard, your role is to make sure the space is set up and ready for magic to unfold. You're not leading the workshop—you’re the quiet force behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly.

Arrive at least 20 minutes before the session to prepare the room. Check that the space is clean, arranged as needed, and welcoming. Say hello to the facilitator and offer help with anything they might need—whether it’s setting up chairs, adjusting the lighting, or making sure the speaker and microphone are working properly.

After the workshop, sweep through the room again: clear leftover materials, return furniture to its default layout, and leave everything fresh for the next session. Your calm, can-do presence helps create a supportive and reliable atmosphere for both facilitators and participants.

You’ll help maintain a clean and organized space, work together to ensure everything’s ready on time, and bring warmth and focus to the heart of the retreat. The kitchen is often filled with music, laughter, and flow—it’s a space of joyful service and connection.

Your shift ends with serving the meal and soaking up the gratitude from a nourished community.

Kitchen Resetters

After the magic of meal-making comes the quiet beauty of restoring order. As a Kitchen Resetter, your role is to bring the space back to calm and cleanliness so it’s ready for the next round of cooking and care.

You’ll sort dirty dishes, pots, and utensils into their zones, load the industrial dishwasher, and wash larger items by hand using hot water and eco-friendly soap. Surfaces, stovetops, and chopping boards are scrubbed clean. Food scraps get composted. Floors are swept and mopped. Recycling and garbage are sorted and taken out.

The work is physical, grounding, and often meditative—done side-by-side with others, sometimes with music, sometimes in peaceful silence. The goal: a spotless kitchen, reset and ready for the next shared moment.

Bar
Steward

As a Bar Steward, you help keep the retreat refreshed, hydrated, and flowing smoothly. The bar is self-service, but your presence ensures it stays beautiful and well-stocked. You’ll refill the fridges with non-alcoholic drinks, top up the ice, and keep the area clean, organized, and inviting.

Wipe down surfaces, arrange glasses and supplies, and check that everything is in its place. This isn’t just about function—it’s about vibe. Your quiet care helps make the bar a cozy and welcoming spot for guests to pause, connect, and recharge.

LNT –
Leave No Trace (Garden Gnomes)

As a Garden Gnome, your task is to quietly tend to the outdoor spaces—keeping them clean, welcoming, and in tune with nature. With a watchful eye and a gentle hand, you’ll wander through the grounds, picking up litter, emptying ashtrays, and returning any pillows, blankets, or misplaced items to where they belong.

Check in on decorations, straighten gathering spots, and give everything a small touch of love so the outdoors feels as intentional as the indoors.

It’s a shift of subtle magic—your presence helps everyone feel held by the land, invited into beauty, and part of something cared for.
